Welcome to Mankato West High School, home of the Scarlets, located in Mankato, Minnesota. Mankato West High School (MWHS) embraces a diverse community of learners within the Mankato Area Public Schools (MAPS). In partnership with parents and our community, MWHS's mission is “assuring learning excellence and readiness for a changing world.” We partner with higher education institutions, innovative businesses, nonprofit organizations and engaged community leaders to prepare our students for college, career and life.

Every day, students walk through the doors of MWHS filled with talent, dreams, and enormous potential. Our responsibility is to provide a world-class education that will empower their strengths and develop the skills they need for their future. Preparing our students for success in college, career and community requires a holistic approach. Our dedicated educators deliver curriculum that has evolved to include courses demanded by today’s colleges and the skills demanded by today’s employers. We strive to provide an organizational culture that values each employee and provides excellent customer service to our students and families.
